My body has one default mode: go, go, go. I’m usually running at top speed, so when my weekend trip was unexpectedly canceled and I found myself with time on my hands, I honestly felt at a loss.
I immediately called friends and made plans. I arranged a BBQ and play dates.
That’s when I realized that I didn’t know how to pause. To stand still. To allow myself the time to pause and reflect. To be still in the moment. To recharge.
That’s why this week’s #MindfulMonday post is ho’omaha [ho’oh mah-hah], which is “to take a break” in Hawaiian. May you take time - as a result of an unexpected cancelation or planned break - to rest and recharge this week.
